It is the cutting engineer who must translate the digital sound into acceptable disc quality. It is he who must be aware of the disc's limitations and how to circumvent them. In other words, he must be a magician who can so change the character of an "approved" digital file, as to trick the client's ears into believing that the disc at home sounds identical to the files in the studio.
